Please review the following articles and then post a paragraph of reflection on each in your blog.

I think that it is good that we are going to get that big of a tax cut.  they are going to extend the unemployment benefits for 13 months. they are also going to  cut the payroll tax by 2 percentage points for a year, restore the estate tax at a lower level and continue a series of other tax breaks. The Senate vote is "a win for American families, American businesses, and our economic recovery," Obama said in a written statement. So i think that the tax cut deal will be good for everybody.

A government shutdown looms as Congress risks missing a key deadline this weekend over the battle in the Senate on a massive 2,000-page catchall spending bill. Sen. John McCain tweeted the top 10 earmarks in the spending bill, including $247,000 for virus free wine grapes in Washington State, $413,000 for peanut research in Alabama, $235,000 for noxious weed management in Nevada and $400,000 for solar parking canopies and plug-in electric stations in Kansas. i dont thin that they need to spend that much money on grapes and peanuts and solar parking stations and plug in electric stations in kansas. i dont think they need that much research for those kinds of things.

Republicans are saying Majority Leader Harry Reid is to blame for potentially keeping the Senate in session through Christmas."Christmas is a week from Saturday. I understand that. But I hope the Republicans understand it also. Because we are going to complete our work, no matter how long it takes in this Congress," said Reid at a Capitol Hill news conference today. i think that they should get as far as possible and then when christmas comes, i think they should stop and be able to spend christmas with their families. and they can pick up where they left off after they get back from christmas.

President Obama turned the debate over the extension of the Bush tax cuts into a 2012 campaign issue when he made a deal with Republicans to extend them all for another two years. Obama's deal with Republicans would extend the Bush-era tax cuts for two years, extend unemployment insurance for 13 months, cut the payroll tax for one year and reinstate the estate tax at a relatively low rate and high threshold, among other things. It's anticipated to cost around $900 billion and is not paid for. i think they should think about it more and take more time before they just go out and spend 900 billion dollars that we dont have.
