The president of the United States is one such leader. As a nation we place no greater responsibility on any one individual than we do on the president.the roles and responsibilities of the U.S. president the roles of the president are challenging and take a lot of skill.
http://bensguide.gpo.gov/3-5/government/national/president.html
The President is the head of the executive branch and plays a large role in making America’s laws. His job is to approve the laws that Congress creates. When the Senate and the House approve a bill, they send it to the President. If he agrees with the law, he signs it and the law goes into effect. In addition to playing a key role in the lawmaking process, the President has several duties. He serves as the American Head of State, meaning that he meets with the leaders of other countries and can make treaties with them.
The expressed powers of the President of the United States are set down in Article 2 of the Constitution. The major function of the executive branch is to enforce the laws. the president has a lot of jobs to do and some of the presidents do a better job than others do sometimes.

With the help of your textbook and Ch 23, please explain the differences among capitalism, socialism and communism.   Then explain the pros and cons that each hold.

Capitalism is an economic system based on private ownership of capital the pros of capitalism are thatcapitalism promotes economic growth by providing an open competition in the market. some cons would be the fierce competition brought about by capitalism as its major drawback.
Socialism is a political theory advocating state ownership of industry some pros of socialism are mostly about sharing between people. In many ways, it is about distributing the wealth of a nation to the masses so that there is not a broad class. some cons of socialism would be that people don't necessarily like to share. In addition, we have difficultly relating to socialism in American because the capitalistic system is all about the individual and singular life.
Communism is a form of socialism that abolishes private ownership.Communism has a number of advantages and disadvantages. From the political science point of view, communism is a system where the property and profit are based on public ownership. Therefore, one of the major advantages of communism is the equality. In a non-communist scenario, the property and the profit belong to individual. According to these profits, properties and a number of other factors, these individuals are different.

Great Britan's government operates in a strange unorthodox manner. The house of the lords is the upper house and the house of commons is the lower house. the house of commons contains more power than the house of lords. they also have a prime minister unlike the united states.

3. Read the following link and share your opinions: 1 paragraph  http://keloland.com/NewsDetail6162.cfm?Id=109027
i think that it is good that kristi Noem is in the house and that it is going good for her. Noem says she supports the Republican leadership plan to repeal the Health Care Law starting with votes this week in the U.S. House. i think it is good that she is going to try and repeal the health care law.

4.  Read the following link and find a story and give a reflection on it:1 paragraph  http://www.cnn.com/POLITICS/
Members of the new Republican-led House of Representatives are set to take part Thursday in an unusual reading of the U.S. Constitution on the floor of the chamber. i think that it is good that they are going to read through the constitution because they said it is long overdue. it is good because they need to read through it and make sure it is like they want it.

5. Read the following link and give a reflection on it: 1 paragraph   http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2011/01/05/worried-about-national-debt-put-it-your-credit-card?test=latestnews
i think that it is good that we are worried about the nations debt and it is not good that they are talking about credit cards. they are talking about putting some of the nations debt on your credit card and they say that you can pay for it later. i dont think that is right and it should not happen.
6. Read the following link and give a reflection on it: 1 paragraph

Congress Articles

Please review the following articles and then post a paragraph of reflection on each in your blog.

http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/12/15/tax.deal/index.html?hpt=T1
I think that it is good that we are going to get that big of a tax cut.  they are going to extend the unemployment benefits for 13 months. they are also going to  cut the payroll tax by 2 percentage points for a year, restore the estate tax at a lower level and continue a series of other tax breaks. The Senate vote is "a win for American families, American businesses, and our economic recovery," Obama said in a written statement. So i think that the tax cut deal will be good for everybody.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/12/15/republicans-vow-reject-pork-filled-omnibus-spending/
A government shutdown looms as Congress risks missing a key deadline this weekend over the battle in the Senate on a massive 2,000-page catchall spending bill. Sen. John McCain tweeted the top 10 earmarks in the spending bill, including $247,000 for virus free wine grapes in Washington State, $413,000 for peanut research in Alabama, $235,000 for noxious weed management in Nevada and $400,000 for solar parking canopies and plug-in electric stations in Kansas. i dont thin that they need to spend that much money on grapes and peanuts and solar parking stations and plug in electric stations in kansas. i dont think they need that much research for those kinds of things.

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2010/12/15/5655463-the-senates-war-over-christmas
Republicans are saying Majority Leader Harry Reid is to blame for potentially keeping the Senate in session through Christmas."Christmas is a week from Saturday. I understand that. But I hope the Republicans understand it also. Because we are going to complete our work, no matter how long it takes in this Congress," said Reid at a Capitol Hill news conference today. i think that they should get as far as possible and then when christmas comes, i think they should stop and be able to spend christmas with their families. and they can pick up where they left off after they get back from christmas.

President Obama turned the debate over the extension of the Bush tax cuts into a 2012 campaign issue when he made a deal with Republicans to extend them all for another two years. Obama's deal with Republicans would extend the Bush-era tax cuts for two years, extend unemployment insurance for 13 months, cut the payroll tax for one year and reinstate the estate tax at a relatively low rate and high threshold, among other things. It's anticipated to cost around $900 billion and is not paid for. i think they should think about it more and take more time before they just go out and spend 900 billion dollars that we dont have.

chapter 7

1. Explain the difference between hard and soft money:
hard money is money raised and spent to elect candidates for congress and the white house. soft money is money given to party organizatons for such as candidate recruitement, voter registration and the get out to vote drives and similar efforts.

2. What is the electoral process and is this something that you agree or disagree with and why?
the first step in the electoral process is you can vote early by absentee voting and then there is the cottail effect. then you can cast the ballot. there is automated voting that people can do and vote by mail and online voting. i disagree with the online voting because i dont think there is enough safety for that and a hacker could get into it and change the results.

3. What is the difference between a closed and open primary?
a closed primary is where only declared party members can vote. an open primary is where any qualified voter can cast a ballot.

4. Explain what absentee voting is and what the positives and negative may be with regards to it:
absentee voting is where people can cast their ballot before election day. it is a procees by which they could vote without going to their polling places. there are some positive and negatives to it the negative is doing it that way there is a chance it could get screwed up somehow and not get the right numbers and and the positive to it is that there isint so many people showing up to vote on the day of the election.

5. What changes to your see in the way we run elections ten years from now?
the changes that i think we will see is voting from your home and there will be no more polling places and all the voting and counting will all be done with a machine. i dont think that is right because i know there wont be enough saftey voting from your home and a hacker could easily get in and change it.

6. Explain your views on money and elections with regards the amount of money that is spent:
i  think that the money spent on elections is too much and i dont think that we need to spend millions of dollars on elections. but it is the person with all the moneys choice how much they want to spend.

7. Go to cnn.com or foxnews.com and find an article dealing with the election process.  Post the article in your blog and provide your viewpoints pertaining to the article.
On election eve Republicans are finishing strong in key states.

The final round of Fox News battleground state polls shows Democratic incumbents in trouble across the country.
The latest surveys were conducted on Oct. 30 by Pulse Opinion Research for Fox News. Each survey included 1,000 likely voters and has a margin of error of 3. The latest Fox News Battleground state poll shows Republican Sharron Angle now leading Reid by 3 points, 48 percent to 45 percent among likely voters. Reid dropped two points from the last Fox poll of the Silver State two weeks ago. my view point on this article is that there shouldnt be a margin for error it should all be correct without any margin for an error. because if there is an error that just creates more of a problem for the election
